Here is out first craft to kick off what is hopefully a great summer! The story behind this craft is that I asked my daughter what she wanted to make and she said, ”A crab!” And that is what we did… 🤣

Materials

  • Red paper
  • Red pipe cleaners
  • Glue and tape
  • Marker
  • Scissors

Directions

  1. Fold the red paper in half. On one half, draw an oval-ish shape and on the other half, draw two thin rectangles and two claws.
  2. Cut out all the shapes.

3. Glue the rectangles in V shape on the back of the oval.

4. Glue the claws on the other ends of the rectangles.

5. Twist 3 pipe cleaners in the middle and tape to the back of the oval, where the two rectangles meet.

6. Bend the pipe cleaners to make them look more like legs.

7. Add a face.

8. HAVE FUN WITH YOUR NEW FRIENDS! They won’t pinch you! 😎

It has been super fun getting to the point where my daughter can cut things out on her own. I have to admit, though, that I was low key terrified when I first handed her a pair of scissors – I can’t imagine how I’m going to feel when I’m going to have to hand over a pair of car keys! 🤣

Anywho, I hope you have a great start to your summer! Happy crafting and music making!
